Electric T & D:
Residential Cable Upgrade and Replacement
PE insulated distribution cable installed in the late 1960's and early 1970's started failing
prematurely in the early 1980's. Utilities have taken a proactive approach to cable replacement
to reduce power outages.
INFRATECH replaces these failed cables with equipment that is
capable of maneuvering around fences, back lot lines, pools and sheds to get in the tightest of
easements. The crews can install underground cable and conduit in all conditions from sand in
water tables to medium rock, without the need for open excavation.

Overhead/Underground Conversion
Hurricane prone areas of the country have found that aerial lines can be very difficult to
maintain with the recent level of storms. Besides being aesthetically pleasing, underground
systems are less prone to damage from storms.
INFRATECH has performed these
conversions and can assist in reducing your cost during the design phase of such projects.

Downtown Feeder and Conduit Placement
The most demanding of trenchless construction takes place in the downtown urban
environment. Existing utilities, buried structures of years past, pavement sometimes 18" thick,
traffic, pedestrians, and tight easements combine to make this the most challenging type of
utility construction.
INFRATECH has installed miles and miles of underground facilities in this
environment.

Network Underground Conduit Expansion and Upgrade
Urban manhole and conduit systems have been filled to capacity over the years. It is an
enormous undertaking to place a new system in a congested area. Wooden duct systems still
exist.
INFRATECH has the ability to place additional conduit between existing manholes
without the need for surface trenching. An additional service includes the upgrade of existing
conduit to a useable condition.
