Mr. Chris Prangley, the founder of INFRATECHsm in 1994, saw a need for a contractor with the expertise necessary to foster a partnering atmosphere with utilities; expanding further the possibilities in applications for improved infrastructure in the placement of utilities and horizontal wells for environmental remediation. Trenchless construction alleviates the need for most surface excavation by backhoe or trencher. This provides for safer, more cost effective, and less intrusive utility remediation.

Mr.  Prangley managed the very first operation in the Southeast US utilizing directional drilling for full scale replacement of electric utilities in 1985.  This translated to INFRATECHsm concentrating on providing trenchless installation services for its first customers.  As the technology moved from being a specialty to a staple at many utilities around the country, INFRATECHsm diversified and now offers full turnkey services including design, installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of all utility types.
